We will join hundreds of other Missionary Baptist churches around the world in celebrating World Missions Day on Sunday, February 22.

Our guest speaker in the morning service will be Filomeno Kakilala. A native of the Philippines, he has been serving in Hawaii. He has recently felt led to return to his native Philippines and is on deputation, raising support for his new ministry.

We will receive a special missions offering–some of it will go to our guest speaker, and the remainder will go to the BMAA missions general fund. Please give generously to help our missionaries spread the good news throughout the world.

Christmas Shoeboxes 2014

BEGIN A GRIN THAT NEVER ENDS!

God sent His Son for us, giving us the most precious gift of all. You have an opportunity to give a child a shoebox filled with material gifts, but more importantly, it’s a chance to meet Jesus Christ as their personal savior. This year, we will be sending shoeboxes to Nicaragua and El Salvador.

This is our ninth year giving Christmas shoeboxes. As in previous years, hundreds of churches participated in the 2013 project and thousands of boxes arrived at our warehouse and were shipped to children in Peru and Romania. We look forward to shipping thousands of gifts this year to children in El Salvador and Nicaragua. Many volunteers give of their time to help us go through each of the shoeboxes to make sure each one is packed correctly. See the guidelines below to help make this project successful. Thank you for helping give children a reason to smile!

Guidelines for the 2014 Making Everlasting Smiles Project

  • DO NOT INCLUDE: toy guns (including water guns), any war related toys (toy soldiers, etc.), balloons, decks of cards, marbles, breakable items (including mirrors and nail polish), knives, CANDY, chap stick or lip gloss, glue of any kind, deodorant or liquids! (Liquids include shampoo, conditioner, lotion, glue, bubbles, etc.) Due to heat we have had problems with a lot of these items melting during shipping.
  • Please wrap the top & bottom of the shoeboxes separately, and secure together with a large rubber band. Shoeboxes need to be close to these measurements: 12”x7”x4”. Please do not send larger boxes because we have a hard time packing them and it’s not fair for some children to receive larger boxes than the rest. ALSO, PLEASE DO NOT SEND THE PLASTIC CONTAINERS. We have had problems with them breaking during shipping.
  • To cover the cost of shipping, please place $5 in the top of each shoebox. If you or your church will be sending multiple shoeboxes, please send one check made out to BMMI to cover the cost of shipping.
  • Please label each shoebox for BOY or GIRL. This will help us out tremendously. Also, if your box is for a baby, please label it Baby Boy or Baby Girl.
  • The ideal Shoebox for a Girl would include: washcloth, bar soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, Spanish Bible, coloring book, crayons, small doll or stuffed animal, notepad, pencils, jump rope, jewelry, and hair bows.
  • The ideal Shoebox for a Boy would include: washcloth, bar soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, Spanish Bible, coloring book, crayons, stuffed animal, notepad, pencils, cars, watch, wallet, bouncy ball, and yo-yo.
